       Donald G. Adair was born in Gastonia, NC. He graduated from Gastonia High School in 1951 where he met and fell in love with Carolyn Sue Crigger Adair and married her in May 1952. By then he was in the US Army and served 3 years with 18 months in Korea. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in January 1958. He joined Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Toledo, then Chicago, then Atlanta. Job changes were made and he came to Charlotte as Regional Sales Manager for The Macke Company. He also lived in Houston, Washington, D.C. and Grenada, Mississippi where he was president of Canteen of Mississippi. He returned to Charlotte and became a Real Estate Broker with The Allen Tate Co. He retired in 1997 and became a Tree Farmer at Riada Farm in Huntersville. Don & Sue enjoyed retirement immensely and traveled Europe, the mid-east and the Far East. He died on Thursday October 19, 2017.

 

       He is survived by his brother Bill Adair and his wife Carol, his three daughters Donna Adair Garrison and her husband Jeff, Deborah Adair Long and Katy Adair. He has 2 granddaughters, Allison Novinc and Alaina Campoli and her husband Chase and 2 great granddaughters Chloe and Caylee Matthews.

 

       There will be a memorial service at Riada Farm 9800 Sao Paula Dr., Huntersville, NC on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Ranson Ridge Assisted Living in Huntersville or to Hospice of Lake Norman.
