Dorothy Elaine (Hall) Wyble

Dorothy Elaine Hall Wyble died June 18, 2016, at Pineville Rehab and Living Center in at the age of 88 from COPD and CHF.   She was born on September 25, 1927 in Twin Falls, Idaho to her parents, Vertis A. Hall and Hazel Conlee Hall.  She then moved with them back to their home city of Beaumont, Texas.  Another child was soon born, Robert Eugene Hall, her only brother who died in 2015.   Her niece, Jane Hall Landry and nephew, Robert Ray Hall, still reside in Texas.  Jane is married to Jeff Landry and with whom they have one daughter, Amanda Landry.   A nephew, Robert Hall, resides in Texas with his wife, Nancy.

Dorothy attended USL in Lafayette, LA, and eventually made Louisiana her home upon marriage to her husband, Raleigh Leslie Wyble, Jr. who preceded her in death in 1996.   

She moved to Charlotte, NC, in 2008 to be near her only daughter, Elizabeth Ann Wyble Kearley, her husband, Kevin, and her only grandson, Robert William Kearley.   Bob married Kelly Moshier Kearley in 2010 and in 2011 there would be a great granddaughter named Ava Vienna Kearley.  They now reside in Minneapolis, Minn.

Dorothy Wyble had a Masters in Education and Special Education.  She lovingly enjoyed teaching kindergarten and third grade students in Melville, Louisiana for 37 years.  She served as the Justice of the Peace in Melville and at one time considered running for Mayor.  She always had a keen interest in politics.  She was a long time member of the Eastern Star and was very active in her Methodist church in Melville as well as here in Charlotte with the Wesley United Methodist Church on Rea Road.  

She became a resident of the Elmcroft Assisted Living Facility on Little Avenue a little over three years ago where she thrived in the activities and developed many long lasting friendships with the other residents as well as staff members.   

She asked for no funeral or graveside ceremonies.  Her remains are being handled by Carolina Funeral Service and Cremation Center in Charlotte, NC.
