James Allison

  James Allison of Charlotte passed away peacefully surrounded by family Friday, April 14, 2017. Jim was born January 25, 1924 in Kenmore, Ohio to William and Esther Allison who came to the U.S. from Scotland. He was a Naval Aviator and a Civil Engineer (P.E.) in Illinois, Ohio and Florida. After retiring, he bought a farm (Allison’s Orchard) that gave him great joy. 

He was predeceased by his daughter Clare Bradford and sisters Isabelle Corvington and Marie Voelker.    He is survived by wife Anne Marie and children: Mark Allison (Ann Marie), Mary Coppola (Steve), Ruth Rosario Allen (Ken) and Edward Allison (Jackie), fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

There will be a funeral mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on May 6, 2017 at 2pm..  On July 3, 2017 there will be a memorial mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Akron, Ohio followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, if you would honor him, please go out to a favorite restaurant with a friend for an early breakfast. Look around, Jim will be with you.

The family is grateful to the wonderful caring staff at Saturn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. They and his fellow residents truly became Jim’s family over four happy years.
