James Horace Wheeler

JAMES HORACE WHEELER, 81 of Matthews, NC passed away on September 20, 2017.  Born in Indian Trail, NC, he was the son of Oscar Horace Wheeler and Belka Bell Moore Wheeler.

 Mr. Wheeler retired from Petroleum Tank Service as a sand blaster for 31 years.  He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1959. 

He is survived by his wife Norris Taylor Wheeler, children Fred T Martin III, Rochelle Martin, Steven E Martin, Penny M Phifer, Hope M Houatchanthara and Delores L Wheeler Russell, 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a sister, Emily Kathryn Wheeler Queen.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Eugene Wheeler. 

He was a loving and giving husband, father, and grandfather.  He had a huge heart and would do anything for his family.  He loved spending his time outside, his coffee, sweet tea, grape soda and 3 Musketeers. 

A private celebration of life will be held by the family members at a later date.
