Joyce Morrison (Morrison) Krimminger

Joyce Morrison Krimminger, 87, of Charlotte passed away Friday, April 15, 2016.  She was born August 14, 1928 in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late Joseph Alfred Morrison and Pearl Bost Morrison.  Along with her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by brother Leith Bost Morrison, Mack Wilburn Morrison and sister Mary Elizabeth Hough.  She is survived by daughter Daphne Taylor, grandson Jonathon Tipton and wife Jamie, and 4 great grandchildren Kaley, Bailey, Jesse and Jaden and brothers Edward Linley Morrison and wife Christine and Sammy Lane Morrison and wife Linda.

Joyce was a graduate of Bethel school in 1945.  She played on the girls’ basketball team, sang in the glee club, and was a member of the school newspaper.   Joyce was employed with Westinghouse Electric Corporation, where she was a secretary for Mr. Tom Caine in the Power Generation Department until she retired.

Joyce enjoyed traveling which included many family trips to Disney World, multiple states visiting former colleagues and attending Scottish Highland Games.   Her love for baking led her to cake decorating class and eventually linked her two passions together as she became known as the Official Baker to the Scottish Kingdom.  Joyce was a founding member of the Catawba Valley Scottish Society, and regularly convened the Clan Morrison tent at multiple Scottish Highland Games throughout the southeast.  She was known for sharing her baked goods with everyone, and it was a rite of passage to wear a Morrison cookie sticker after sampling.  One of her favorite pastimes was her annual Christmas Cookie Jubilee she held for family, neighbors, and Scottish friends. 

Mama Joyce will always be remembered for her warm smile, loving heart, cheerful personality and never meeting a stranger.
