Patricia Smith Barnette

Patricia Smith Barnette, 75 of Charlotte passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at Presbyterian Novant Hospital-Charlotte.  The daughter of the late Plato " Pete" Vernon and Veinna (Blackwelder) Smith, Patricia was born in Concord on April 29, 1942.  She attended and graduated from the Harrisburg School system and had been a lifelong area resident.  She was an active member of St. John United Methodist  where she was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School.  Mrs. Barnette loved to cross stitch, garden and spend time at the family's mountain home.

Besides her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her brothers Fabian "Jack" Smith and Kenneth Smith.     Surviving family members include her husband of 35 years  William "Otis" Barnette; daughter  Kerrie Quinn; stepdaughter Paige Barnette; grandson Brandon Quinn; step grandchildren Tyler and Brittany Hawk.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1-2 PM at St. John United Methodist Church,  Monroe Rd, Charlotte.  A service will follow at 2 PM with Rev.
