Pauline (Mauney) Kellam

Pauline Mauney Kellam, 86, of Charlotte, NC, died on April 20th, 2017. She was born in Kings Mountain, NC on February 16th, 1931. Pauline was the daughter of the late Paul Mauney and Lillian Ramsaur.  She was proceeded in death by her husband of 37 years, Dr. Donald S. Kellam Jr., and her sister Alice Betty Snow. She is survived by her 4 children Mark, Carl, Bret, and Gwyn and 8 grandchildren as well as her brothers Jack Mauney (Betsy), and Fleming Mauney (Mary Jean), and many nieces and nephews.
Polly was an accomplished pianist with a life long love of music. She was an avid supporter of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Polly, known by some as the Toy Lady, had a passion for providing toys and books to the children of the Charlotte community to enrich their lives. She was a long time member of Providence Presbyterian Church. She was devoted to her family and friends. Her quiet and gentle empathy will be missed by many.
Services will be held Tuesday April 25th, 2017 at 2pm in the Fellowship Hall at the Aldersgate Retirement Community. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Loaves & Fishes, 648B Griffith Rd. Charlotte NC, 28217 or Crisis Assistance Ministry, 500-A Spratt St. Charlotte NC, 28206 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
