Thomas Reginald Dudley

Thomas Reginald Dudley, age 73, loving and devoted husband to Peggy Jones Dudley, both of Charlotte, NC left his earthly body on Saturday, February 11, 2017.  He was born on November 2, 1943 to the late Harvey G. Dudley, Jr and Gwendolyn Maye (Whitworth) Dudley.  He attended Our Lady of Victory Elementary School in Portsmouth, Va.; Harrison Elementary School in Roanoke, Va. where he first met his wife, Peggy Jones, and St Andrews Elementary. He graduated from Lucy Addison High School in Roanoke Va. and attended Columbia University in NYC. He worked for General Electric in Roanoke before moving on to the IBM Corporation which carried him to Columbia, MD and subsequently to Charlotte, NC. After retiring, he worked as a consultant at EDS. His passion, outside that for his family, was genealogy exemplified by 25 years of creating, maintaining, and updating the Lucy Addison High School, a Black History, and the Brooks/Whitworth family websites.

 Those left to cherish his legacy are wife Peggy Jones Dudley, sons Keith (Andrea)Dudley of Charlotte, NC, Kevin (Michele) Dudley of Chicago, Il and Korey Dudley of Charlotte, NC and; four grandchildren: Randall and Ryan, Gabriella, and Noah Dudley.

 Included survivors are his mother and loving Mother-in-Law Lorraine Rayford Jones Callahan, Baltimore, MD; brothers Vernon (Melcina) Dudley of Raleigh, NC, Richard (Brenda) Dudley of Tampa; sisters Marilyn Lovejoy of Wake Forrest, NC.; Stephanie Oliphant, Charlotte NC and Sister-in-Law Sandra (Charles) Downs Baltimore, Md.  There are a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family members, friends, colleagues and supporters that are too great to name.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at the Carolina Funeral Service and Cremation Center, 5505 Monroe Drive, Charlotte, NC with Rev. Henry L. MacDowell officiating.
