Welcome to the memorial page for

Xie (谢 良 华) Liang Hua

December 24, 1950 ~ March 16, 2017 (age 66) 66 Years Old

Xie Liang Hua, ( 谢 良 华 ) 66 of Beihai China, died Thursday, March 16, 2017 after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.  Liang was born in the countryside of Guangdon, China on December 24, 1950.  His family moved to Beihai in 1953.  Life was very difficult at that time.  Under the “Chairman Mao Regime” food was scarce and education was not for the poor.  At the age of 16, Liang went to work on the docks.  He worked hard and later became a freighter captain.  He traveled mostly around the China Seas to places like Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Singapore.  He would often smuggle gifts for his 2 little girls, toys, bicycles and pretty dresses.

Liang Hua married Deng Jia Ling in the late 70s.  The couple had 2 girls, something at that time was unheard of.  He was a loving husband and father.  When he was on leave, Liang would take long walks with his daughters Chun and Qiu and in the evening, he go out with his wife Jia to enjoy the street vendors and listen to local musicians play their music as the crowds would dance.

Xie Liang Hua is survived by his wife Deng Jia Ling, and daughter Xie Qiu both of Beihai, China and daughter Chun Xie Kuzma and her husband Steve Kuzma both of Charlotte.  Also surviving are his 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25th at 4 PM at Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 5505 Monroe Rd, Charlotte.   A private inurnment will take place in late summer.
