Hareen Bonnie Horowitz was born on May 23, 1945, in Queens, New York. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary and David Gould and her brother Robert “Bobby” Gould M.D., with whom she had a special bond. She leaves behind her daughter Jamie Tara Horowitz, her granddaughter Jade Katherine Rabah, and her honorary granddaughter, Juliet the Aussiedoodle.
Hareen was a strong-willed woman, who preserved over many obstacles in her life. She is pictured in her Entervan. When her body betrayed her, she got on her scooter, got into her van and as she always said, “kept on trucking.”
Hareen was a graphic artist, working in a field dominated by men at a young age. She was a pitcher on the boy’s team as a child in California and had a strong grip until the end. She loved animals, would never turn away a stray, and donated to children and animal causes even when she was struggling herself.
She loved puzzles, Yahtzee, word searches and reading. Her mind remained strong, her sarcastic humor never faltered. She loved Monroe, New York and her family there, especially her cousin Laurie. Towards the end Miss Pearl and her could be found watching Bonanza, HGTV and Animal shows, and she loved cutting up with Tony.
Hareen will be forever remembered by those who knew and loved her, and her strength will always be admired.
