Douglas Rosol Obituary

Douglas Michael Rosol of Indian Land, SC, formerly of Charlotte, NC, died December 25, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Doug was born June 26, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late William T. Rosol and the late Betty Green Rosol. Doug was a graduate of Myers Park High School and served in the United States Navy. Doug was active in the Charlotte film and television industry and was later employed in both residential and commercial flooring sales.

Doug’s greatest joy was his family, and his many friends from growing up in Charlotte. Doug is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nandel Gable Rosol of Indian Land, SC, his daughters Brittany Morgan (Jay) of Indian Land, SC and Anna Paige Ellinger, of Chapin, SC,  his sisters Lee Justice of Mooresville, NC and Nancy Touhy (James) of Dalton, GA., and brother-in-law Clark Gable (Dodie) of Burlington, NC. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Lola Ellinger, Mackie Ellinger, Ava Caraballo and Emma Caraballo, who were the loves of his life.

Also surviving are his nieces and nephews Shane Touhy, Cortney Touhy Beebe (Kevin), Jackie Hagwood, Savannah Hagwood, Shane Hagwood, Jennifer Grant, Micah Justice. Gage Justice, Stephen Gable (Stephanie), Wesley Gable and Levy Gable.

Also important to Doug was organ donation. Doug was given the gift of life 23 years ago by a family who so generously donated their loved one’s organs, which allowed Doug to receive a new liver. He never took that for granted. The transplant allowed him to see his daughters grow up, have families of their own and to have four grandchildren who brought him unending joy and love. He would want us to encourage everyone to consider being an organ donor, and most importantly, to make sure that your loved ones are aware of your wishes to be an organ donor.

The burial is private. On Friday, January 17, 2020, between 2 and 4 p.m., we invite family and friends to gather at Providence Road Sundries to share our memories of Doug and celebrate his life. Providence Road Sundries is located at 1522 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28207.
