Earlene Gough Obituary

Earlene Hovey Gough passed in Harris Hospice Care at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte NC. She was 84.

She is survived by two sons (John Herbert Gough IV of Austin TX and Derek Hovey Gough of Nixa MO) and her brother Robert Dean Hovey of Overland Park KS. Her husband John Herbert Gough III preceded her in death.

Earlene enjoyed an active life. She swam and did chair yoga at the Levine JCC, went to CPCC and symphony performances with friends, supported Red Hat Society and Al-Anon, and working in her yard. She volunteered with neighbors for Friendship Trays. In the rare moments she wasn’t out doing things, she loved to rest and rock on her screened porch

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday March 10 from 3:00p to 5:00p at Sardis Swim Club, 7400 Thermal Rd, Charlotte, NC 28211. You are invited to share stories and anecdotes from your experiences with Earlene.
