James H. Craddock, Jr.

James H. Craddock, Jr. of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Clear Creek Nursing and Rehab Center.  He was 91.  Born in Greensboro, he later moved to Charlotte where he lived until his death.  Mr. Craddock was drafted into military service in 1944, where he served with the US Army Company A, 27th Tank Battalion. Following his discharge, Jim returned home and attended UNC-Chapel Hill.  He met and married Ruby Elaine Little of Charlotte.  Mr. Craddock was employed with Wilson Sporting Goods for over twenty years.

A man of strong faith, Jim had been a longtime and active member of the former Allen Street Baptist Church, Shamrock Baptist Church which is now known as Grace Crossing Baptist Church. Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a brother William F. Craddock.

Mr. Craddock is survived by his wife of 64 years Ruby L. Craddock, sons Gary (Cindi) Craddock and Paul (Janet) Craddock; grandchildren Drew (Tiffany) Craddock, Morow Craddock, Lindsay Craddock Moran and husband Brandon; and brother Robert Norman Craddock.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 19th from 12 Noon to 1 PM at Grace Crossing Baptist Church, 5600 Rocky River Rd, Charlotte.  A service will follow at 1PM with Rev. Jason Blanton, officiating.  Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery.
