Joanne Eleanor (Bateman) Pierce

Joanne E. Pierce passed away on September 18, 2018 in Charlotte, NC at the age of 79 following a long battle with cancer. Joanne was born in Norristown, PA, daughter of the late George Bateman and Mary Krause. She was preceded in death by her parents; Joseph James Pierce Jr., her husband of 42 years; her son Brian and two infant sons George and John; her brothers Steven, Melvin, George, Robert and her sisters Mary and Suzanna. Joanne is survived by her children Donna Flick (Dohn) of Youngstown, OH; Dr. Joseph James Pierce (Jennifer) of Fort Mill, SC; Michael Pierce (Megan) of Matthews, NC; Michele Hicks (Eric) of Cincinnati, OH; Eric Pierce (Kim) of Charlotte, NC; Owen Pierce of Matthews,NC; Evan Pierce (Jenn) of Atlanta, GA; 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; brother Paul Bateman (Bette) of Clovis, CA; sister Gerry Politowski (Robert) of Darby, PA; sister Mary Brusstar (Kent) of Quarryville, PA; and countless nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends. Joanne was known to be an incredible seamstress, cook and party planner. She enjoyed dancing, NASCAR and visiting the casinos! She will be deeply missed!

A graveside Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Resurrection Cemetery, 4323 Lycoming Mall Dr., Montoursville, PA 17754.
