John-Richard Michael Brooks

"JR", (JaR) was born May 15, 1987. Graduated from Independence High School and obtained an AA degree at CPCC then went on to take additional classes in Land Surveying. JR worked with his father in the family's multi-generational land surveying business. JR was hoping to obtain his Land Surveying license so he could continue the business another generation. His academic achievements included Presidential Commendation from CPCC for is 4.0 gpa. 

During JR’s time in Elementary School he played t-ball and some baseball and soccer, as he grew older, he developed an interest in Tae Kwon Do rising to the red belt. JR had interest in playing bass guitar and the saxophone taking lessons in both and playing with his friends

JR was a hard worker working 2-3 jobs in his efforts to get ahead. His last evening job was at Mellow Mushroom and some considered him the best pizza man in town and his co-workers loved him.

Jr enjoyed reading and writing in what little spare time he had. JR had stayed in contact with many of his high school friends throughout his life.

JR leaves behind his Father Richard, Mother Sheila, Brother Chris and Sister Patsy as well as his stepmother Olga and 2 stepsisters, Elena and Anna, and many aunts, cousins and a lot of co-workers and friends who all loved him and will miss him.

His memorial service will be held 9:15 am Wednesday November 20, 2019 at St. Peters Catholic Church, 507 S Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28202. Entrance to the parking deck is at the north side of the church.
