Kari Louise Marko, 41 died suddenly, in Iron Station, N.C., Monday, April 2, 2018. Kari was born in St. Petersburg, FL to Debra Gail Morgan and Lawrence Alexander Marko. She leaves her big brother Jason Faulds, her big sister Christina Marko and her little sisters Brittany Marko, Amanda Fannin and Lindsey Marko.
As a child Kari was quite the comedian and once was kicked out of Christian elementary school for shooting peas out her nose at people during lunch. Her smile and laugh would light up the room! Kari was a very compassionate person and would help anyone –anytime.
She was awarded for breast cancer awareness by My Hope Chest. She volunteered at food banks, distributing toys to needy children at Christmas time and volunteered at nursing homes. Kari was an accomplished musician. She was in the Voice. She wrote her own music and played several instruments including a wonderful soulful voice. She volunteered playing concerts to benefit the homeless.
Kari was a walking art display of tattoos and each one had meaning for her. The green eyes on the back of her shoulder were her mom’s eyes, meaning mom had her back. She had many belts in Tae Kwon Do and liked to ride motorcycles. Kari adored animals; Titus her 9 year German shepherd, Serenity, her 17 year old cat and a recent addition Annabelle.
She was incredibly proud of each of her children, Nicolas James Fleury, a Marine, and Erica Rose Fleury who was about to graduate high school and her beautiful new teenager Patricia Suzanne Fleury. Kari was also proud of Travis Zerin whom she considered her adopted son.
She is survived by her uncle Denny Marko, her aunt Diane Marko, her aunt Karen Thomas, her aunt Sherry Marks, and many, many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was so very loved and will be terribly missed.
