Lennie Gantt Barnes

Lennie Gantt Barnes of Matthews, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in Pella, Iowa on December 22, 2018.  She was the daughter of the late Charlie Baxter Gantt and Zella Mae Warren Gantt.  Lennie was born in Sharps Township, Alexander County, North Carolina on May 8, 1938.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Wandell Barnes.
 
She is survived by her children, Wanda Coleman (Joe) and Ray Barnes (Amy).  Also surviving are her brother Carrol Gantt (Rebecca), sister Lorene Costner, grandchildren Elisabeth Bloemker (Andrew), Abraham Coleman (Sharon), and many nieces and nephews.
 
The family will receive friends Monday December 31, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 5505 Monroe Road, Charlotte, N.C.  Graveside  service will done at Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center's Chapel due to bad weather at 11:00 A.M.
