From the moment Mark Charles Atwell joined our family, he filled our lives with joy. He was born on July 19,1953 in Reading, PA and died at home in Charlotte, NC on February 17, 2018.
Although he was a long-distance truck driver for over 25 years, Mark loved being with his family and friends, especially his stepdaughters Tina and Trish and the grandchildren Cambryn and Logan. He was gentle, funny, kind, clever and a great storyteller.
He loved the Lord, served his country in the Army, cheered the Tampa Buccaneers and would rather have been fishing than doing anything else. His ashes will be scattered near the Skyway Bridge in Tampa and in the trout waters of Wilson Creek in Virginia. We will miss him.
A memorial service will be held at South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church, 8601 Bryant Farms Road, Charlotte, NC 28277, on Saturday, March 3 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Joey’s Toy Box, 90F Glenda Trace Ste. 429, Newnan, GA 30265 or joeystoybox.net.
