Robert Joseph Tully

Robert J. Tully CHARLOTTE - Robert J. Tully, 81, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017, in Charlotte, NC. Bob was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 18, 1935, and was a graduate of St. John's University. In 1977 Bob moved his family to Charlotte, NC, where he worked for Equitable Life Assurance Society and retired as a Sr. Underwriter after 41 years. He was an active member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Bob was predeceased by his parents, John and Rose Tully, and his siblings, Jack and Peggy. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maureen Tully, his sons and daughters in law, Robert Jr., Kevin, Michael (Kathryn) and Stephen (Norma) Tully, and his grandchildren, Mathew, Nicholas, Daniel, Grace, and Joe Tully. Bob was a generous and loving husband, father, and grandfather, whose faith, humor, intelligence, and charity served as a constant guide and example to all those around him. A Memorial Mass will be held at noon on May 31st, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3016 Providence Rd., Charlotte.
