Thomas Grady Horne

Thomas Grady Horne passed away on Thursday June 29th, his 78th birthday, after a short battle with myelodysplasia. The son of John Lee Horne and Lofa Eddins, he was born in Ruby, SC and grew up in Kannapolis, NC.  A graduate of A.L. Brown High School, he went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps and then completed his degree at Campbell University.  Mr. Horne owned and operated his own company, and upon retirement, enjoyed fulfilling his love of reading as well as visiting the beach and also traveling the state of NC in search of the best BBQ restaurant.

A quiet man, Mr. Horne enjoyed spending time with family. He is predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Kay McIntyre Horne, who passed away in 2006.

He leaves behind his loving children who will miss him greatly. Thomas Lee Horne, Kelley Horne Rickard, Trudy Jo Wendt, Michael David Wendt, Leslie Kay Wendt, and 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

The family would like to thank his caregivers at Levine Cancer Center for their dedicated service and care.
