William Maurice Flagg

William Maurice Flagg, 80 of Charlotte, formerly of Ashland, VA., passed away at home on Wednesday, July 5, 2017.  Bill, the son of the late Willie Hill Flagg and (Louise) Genevieve Smith Flagg, was born in Caroline County, VA on June 12, 1937.  Mr. Flagg served with the US Army Reserves from 1954-1956 before enlisting in the US Marine Corps and proudly serving from 1956-1962.  He retired from Yellow Freight after 35 years of service as a long distance driver.  Mr. Flagg was also a member of the American Legion Post 400.  Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Jane, who passed in October of 2016.
  Mr. Flagg is survived by his children William Maurice Flagg, Jr. (Gaye), Michael Flagg (Lisa),Mark W Flagg (Leanne), Jackie Krajewski (Frank) and Judson H. Flagg (Amy).  Also surviving are his 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
