Wilson Glenn Beasley passed away in his sleep on Saturday, May 4, 2019 in Charlotte, NC. Born in January, 1922, in Louisburg, NC to William Lee and Susie Macon Beasley, he studied at Louisburg College, State College (now NC State), and Parsons School of Design in New York. It was there he met and married Betty Marsh, with whom he returned to North Carolina and began his family and long career in interior design.
As a Boy Scout, Glenn earned the rank of Eagle Scout along with the Order of the Arrow. He served as a Medic in the South Pacific during World War II. He enjoyed painting, reading, and playing piano. A weekend afternoon would find him doing all these or exploring back roads and fishing with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Betty; brothers William Lee, Jr. of Tarboro, NC; Joseph Macon Beasley of Jacksonville, NC; and sister Eleanor Dodson of Pfafftown NC.
Glenn was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. He is survived by his two sons, Graham and his wife Luz Maria; David and his wife Catherine, both of Charlotte; grandchildren April Bowman of Bellwood, Kate Beasley, Vladislav Beasley, and Davyd Beasley; also great-grandchildren Lila Bowman and Coy Bowman; and nieces, nephews, and extended family. A special thank you to Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte for their loving care and support. Also to the staff of The Crossings at Steele Creek, where Glenn lived the last years of his life.
Thank you to Carolina Funeral Service and Cremation Center for handling the final arrangements.
