Anastasia Joanne Marin

Anastasia Joanne Marin of Huntersville, NC passed away on January 24, 2025 at Novant Medical Center Huntersville, NC after battling cancer for two years. Anna as she was called by her family and friends was a caring mother, daughter, partner, aunt, friend and co-worker. Anna was born in Latvia, Riga in 1992 to Elena Celine. Anna spent the first five years of her life swimming in the baltic sea before her and her mother moved to Chicago, Illinois. Anna loved her mother Elena, daughter Elizabeth, step daughter Marley, and her partner Chris. Anna spent most of her time with them and Chris's family the Gillespie's of Mint Hill, NC. Anna loved the water, whether it be the ocean, pool or her garden tub. Anna loved to read books and binge watch movies and TV shows when not spending time with family. Anna recently worked for Mill Creek Residential Trust as an Accounts Receivable Representative and loved her job and work family. Anna loved her friends and the time she would spend talking to and with them. Anna is survived by her partner Chris Gillespie of Huntersville, NC mother Elena Celine of Huntersville, NC daughter Elizabeth Place of Huntersville, NC step daughter Marley Gillespie of Clover, SC and the Gillespie Family Brian, Teresa, Joshua, Morgan, Michael, Makensie, Makayla, Lilly, Ella, Jasmine, and Alan of Mint Hill, NC. Memorial Services our being held at Carolina Funeral Service and Cremation Center. 5505 Monroe Rd. Charlotte, NC 28212 on Thursday January 30 2025 from 2pm to 4pm. Friends and family can will be received at the Gillespie home for celebration of life from 5pm until.
