Ann Irene Lawson Anzalone passed away this May. Although she did have some chronic illness issues her passing was unexpected. The reason I am writing this obituary in October is that days after losing my Annie I learned that my magnificent daughter Kristin's cancer became acutely terminal and all my energy and time was turned toward her extensive needs as I know Ann would have wanted. However, we lost Kristin this September.
I've written Kristin's obituary and now it is time to give Ann the memorial she so justly deserves. My Annie was the perfect mother to her children, a caring friend to so many including me, her husband. She was also my perfect soulmate, wife and lover. She was a dedicated and very accomplished registered nurse achieving her masters in nursing from NYU.
The level of caring and concern she gave to her patients and family members was 24/7 and never ceased to amaze me. Ann was the rock of our family, she made life fun, always there for Brendan and Kristin as tutor, coach, Mom, shoulder to lean on and sounding board when needed.
When Kristin was first diagnosed with epilepsy Ann immediately put her career on hold, without being asked, to lead Kristin's rehabilitation for more than a year then saw her back to school helping her recover her memory thru tutoring and guiding her at school over the course of several years.
My Annie was the love of my life for over 47 years. She will never be forgotten and will always be loved. Ann and Kris are together now in perfect heavenly bliss. Ann is survived by her son Brendan who she loved dearly and was so proud of, Her husband Charles, her sister Mary and daughter-in-law Maggie.
As Ann and Kristin would so often say during their illnesses " It's all part of the Journey". So my sweetheart go with God and journey on my love with Kristin in your arms.
