Benita June (Cline) Lanier

Benita Cline Lanier, 67, of Charlotte, entered into eternal rest unexpectedly on January 1st, 2023.  Born on April 24th, 1955 to Betty W. Cline and the late Ben L. Cline Sr. Benita grew up in Charlotte, where she lived for most of her life.
One of Benita’s greatest joys in life was working with children. Benita devoted nearly 50 years to her work as a Sunday school teacher, of which she loved every minute. Mrs. Lanier was also employed by Atrium Health Levine Children's Specialty Center for over 17 years, a profession she enjoyed. Benita also loved everyone she worked with.  Benita was a member of A New Day Church of Jesus Christ - Apostolic since its inception in 2015. Previously, She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ - Apostolic for over 50 years.

Something that brought Benita great joy was her friends and family. Benita could light up a room with her bright smile and kind words. Benita was not just a person, a wife, a mother, a Grandmother, a sister, or an aunt, Benita was a friend, and she loved everyone she spent time with. And if you knew Benita, there was no doubt you loved her.

Besides her mother Betty, Benita is survived by her husband of 44 years, Rev. Danny Lanier, of Charlotte, Her son, Jordan Lanier, of Harrisburg NC, son Hunter Lanier, of Charlotte, her grandson, Gray Lanier and his mother Rachel, both of Harrisburg, NC, Her brother, Rev. Ben Cline Jr. and his wife Becky, both of Charlotte, Her Nephew, Blake Cline, of California, Her niece, Casey Bradford and husband Timothy, and her Great-Nephews Gavin and Jacob McIntyre, both of which she loved like her own grandchildren, all of Charlotte. Benita is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, her extended family in Virginia, her in-laws, her beloved co-workers, and her church family.

A celebration of Benita’s life will be held at New Life Church of Jesus Christ, 4160 Zion Church Road, Concord, North Carolina, 28025 on January 21, 2023. The visitation will start at 11 A.M. and the service will follow, starting at 12 P.M. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5400 Monroe Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, 28212.
