Bette was born in Glen Ridge, N.J. to Olaf Andersen and Catherine (Fitten) Andersen. She married “Ray” Lynch when he returned from serving in the army during WWII in 1947 and they had 62 wonderful years together. Bette worked for Schering-Plough in their legal department. Bette and Ray raised two sons in Bloomfield, N.J. amongst many close friends and family. Bette is preceded in death by her husband Raymond J. Lynch and son Robert R. Lynch.

During retirement, Bette and Ray moved to Florida to be closer to her brother and his family. She hosted her grandchildren for weeks at a time in the summer where they learned to swim in her pool. She also enjoyed cherished time with her nieces and nephews living nearby.

In 1995, Bette and Ray moved to Charlotte, N.C. where they spent lots of family time with grandchildren, cheering them on in their games and activities. Bette was happies surrounded by family and friends and relished time spent at holidays, special occasions and vacations at the beach.

Bette started every day with two cups of tea and raisin toast. She was meticulous with her home and always presented with her hair set, makeup on, and wearing tailored outfits in her favorite colors of black and white or lavender.

In recent years, dementia and physical ailments slowed her down but never robbed her of her spirit and smile. Her caregivers at Sherwood Forest adored her and always reported how much they loved “Grandma Bette.” The family is so appreciative of their care.

Bette served as a Eucharistic Minister alongside her granddaughter Heather at St. Matthew’s Catholic church. Bette was a faithful servant of God, using prayer and her time at Mass to devote herself to her faith.
