Betty Jean (Banks) Shumaker

Betty Jean Banks Shumaker, 88 of Charlotte, died Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the Woodlawn Haven Rest Home in Mt. Holly.  Mrs.  Shumaker was born July 21, 1931 in Gaffney S.C. to the late Virginia Horn Beck and James Foster and was an only child.  She married Robert (Bobby Banks) in 1948 and was blessed with 5 healthy children.
Betty was preceded in death by her children,  son- Mike Banks (wife) Donna Keistler Banks, daughter-Vicky Banks Helms  and is survived by daughter-Martha Banks Pridgen,sons- Robert Banks (wife) Monica Eller Banks, and Randy Banks (wife) Lisa Christian Banks.

Betty always saw” the good in people” and tried to be the “Shoulder to cry on”!  She loved being around people and was close to God and thankful for everything he provided.
She was known as “Mamaw Betty” to 7 Grandchildren  Cindy Pridgen, Jason Banks, Stacey Banks McDowell, Chis Banks, Christina Thompson, Mandy Moser and Steven Sloan.
She leaves behind 7 Great Grandchildren that will truly miss her!

A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place on Friday July 3rd from 6-8 PM at Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 5505 Monroe Rd, Charlotte.
