Beverly Myers Obituary

Beverly J Myers (88) formally of Toledo OH and Zephryhills FL passed away in Charlotte NC where she had resided for the last 2 years.  Bev was the daughter of John and Agnes Eden, and had been married to Paul C Myers for 55 years.  Paul preceded her in death.

Bev was employed by the Greater Toledo YMCA for 28 years teaching swimming and fitness lessons to all ages, and was the first director of the YMCA Women’s Fitness Camp at Storer YMCA Camps in Jackson MI from 1975 until 1982, then at Adrian College until her retirement.

Bev became a member of the US Masters Swimming Organization at the age of 52 and received many National and World Top Ten awards for competitive swimming; Bev was featured on ESPN for her swimming endeavors.   She also swam in many YMCA Nationals and Senior Sports Classic Nationals meets, taking golds in her last meet in Charlotte at the age of 87.

Bev was preceded in death by her brother Verne Eden, brother-in-law Jim Smith, and brother-in-law James Hupp. 

Bev is survived by what she called her “crazy family” whom she loved very much:

sister: Lois Hupp and sisters-in-laws Carol Smith and Phyllis Eden
sons: Craig (Lisa) Myers; Raymond (Maggie) Myers
grandchildren: Christopher (Khristina) Myers, Rachel (Robert) Darr, Clayton (Elizabeth) Myers and Cullen Myers & companion Tessa Davis,
great granddaughter: Charlotte Darr, and many nieces and nephews.

Bev is also survived by the Loud and Rowdy Crew at Overture Cotswald (who was her even crazier family). 

A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, February 18th at 1PM at Overture Cotswald.  Please email khristinamyers11@gmail.com if you plan to attend the celebration.

A private interment will take place at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
