Bruce Eudy, age 91 of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary, daughter Deanna, son Sam (wife Debbie), son Wayne (wife Melinda), 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Born in Denton and raised in China Grove, North Carolina was always home no matter where his travels took him.
Bruce was a Command Sergeant Major when he retired from the US Army in 1975 after 27 years of service. He served twice in Korea and once in Vietnam and held deployment posts in several states as well as Germany. His final retirement from a Security Management position with Faison Associates came in 1992. After retirement, he and Mary traveled to all 50 states, camping in all but two, and came home with some amazing stories.
To know Bruce was to love and respect him. He was a family man with a strong faith who was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. He worked on lawnmowers for neighbors and vehicles for family and friends. For many years, the backyard of his home was a large garden, producing a variety of produce that was canned and frozen for future use along with plenty to share with others. He was a tremendous people person, keeping in touch with family, friends and Army buddies across the country on a regular basis. Bruce touched so many lives over his lifetime and will be missed by many.
The memorial service for Bruce will be held Saturday, December 17th, at Memorial United Methodist Church, 4012 Central Avenue, Charlotte NC 28205. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm with the funeral at 2:00 pm followed by a graveside service at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill NC 28227. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church.
