Charles "Charlie" Cox Obituary

Charlie, age 44, lost his16 year battle with brain cancer on October 1, 2023. Charlie was born on April 1, 1979. He is the son of Benny and Judy Cox. He graduated from East Meck High school in 1997 and Lenoir Rhyne University in 2001. He worked for Family Dollar from 2002 to 2014 and at The Building Center in Pineville until he had to take leave in 2023 due to illness.

Charlie enjoyed sports, especially Univ. Tennessee football. He liked outdoor activities. He also had an excellent knowledge of computers and could fix almost any problem.

He is preceded by his grandparents, Bill and Julia Fitzhugh, Christine Cox, Jim and Maizie Cox and his uncle Gordon Cox. He is survived by his parents and his sister Gretchen Clarke (Hunter), Cousins Doug Cox (Jodi) and Chris Cox and  Anna. Charlie was a Charter member of Cross and Crown Lutheran Church. He was also a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. He attended and worked with Elevation Church at its beginnings.

Funeral service will be at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1001 Queens Rd, Charlotte 28207.  On October 7, visitation at 12 pm and service at 1pm.

Carolina Funeral Service and Cremation Center; 5505 Monroe Rd Charlotte NC 28212 is serving the family.
