Dale Hunter Jordan

Dale Hunter Jordan, age 59, of Huntersville, NC passed away peacefully Monday morning August 31, 2020 at his sister's home in Lake Wylie, SC. His siblings were by his side, as they were throughout his battle with cancer.

Dale was born November 24, 1960 in Charlotte, the son of Leon Bradley Jordan, Jr. and Catherine (Katie) Hunter Jordan, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Stephen Chase Tarlton of Charlotte; his brothers, Don Jordan, Sr. (Leah) of Mint Hill and Dave Bradley Jordan (Dolores) of Huntersville; his sister, Sandy Behan Caldwell (Daril) of Lake Wylie, SC; nephews, Mike Conly (Sherri) of Lake Wylie, SC and Don Jordan, Jr. (Rachel) of Charlotte; his nieces, Lisa Bates of Mt. Holly and Joy Jordan of Huntersville, as well as 8 great nephews and 3 great nieces.

Dale was an avid NASCAR fan, loved football and baseball and was quite the ball player, along with his two brothers, as a young man. He will be remembered by family and friends for his big heart; his humble spirit; his love of children and animals; and for his beautiful testimony, born of his many struggles in life, that will stay with us always. When asked how he wanted to be remembered, he said, "I want everyone to know I saw the light."

Arrangements are being handled by Carolina Funeral Services and Cremation Center in Charlotte. Funeral services will be held at New Hope Baptist Church at 7841 Idlewild Road in Charlotte on Thursday, September 3rd, at 12 noon with The Reverend Doctor Ernest W. Davis officiating. The family will receive friends at the church before the service beginning at 11 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Don Jordan, Jr., Ray Rushing, Rick Parker, Gary Parker, Donnie Parker and Tommy Mann. Dale will be laid to rest at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery in Charlotte beside his mom and dad.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Lake Norman Oncology and all of those with Hospice who provided care and comfort to him and to us throughout Dale's illness. In lieu of flowers, Dale asked that donations be made to Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC.
