~ Denise Patrice Slaughter-Arrington ~
Denise P. Slaughter-Arrington was born in Albany, New York on May 20,1954. She was the daughter of the late William Leon and Frances E. Slaughter. Predeceased by her father William L. Slaughter, mother Frances Slaughter, her 1st husband Lee Arrington, sisters: Barbra Johnson, Sharon Slaughter and brothers: Leslie Slaughter, and William L. Slaughter Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Leroy Burley Jr of Florida. All her children, Kori (Amara) Moses of Albany, NY Kristopher (Shawnah) Moses, of Albany, NY and one daughter, Kourtney Moses of Albany, NY, 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; three sisters, Veronica Mott; Dana (James)Kornegay and Michelle Starling all of Albany, NY, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She also had a host special lifetime friendship Barbra McDowell, and Judy Motley(deceased). She's also survived by two brothers; Michael (Kyian) Slaughter, and Gregory (Leah) slaughter both of Albany, NY.
Denise attended college at the Sage Junior College of Albany After college began her career with New York State where she served the people of New York for 30+ years. She worked as a Accounting Specialist with NYS Office of Children and Family Services. After retiring in 2009 she relocated with her husband to North Carolina.
Family was a priority for Denise as she poured love on her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very outspoken person who almost never bit her tongue, she had a heart of gold and was a generous and goodhearted person; she loved to be around people. Her favorite pass time was cooking, playing at the Casino and working in her garden.
Denise lived a full and productive life on her terms; she was a special person, and her life is to be remembered as a blessing to many and her memory is to be treasured.
Revelation 21:4: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be
no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of
things have passed away”.
