Dorris "Bill" William Whipple

D. William (Bill) Whipple III, 85, of Weddington, North Carolina, passed away in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family and friends on September 29, 2022.

Bill is survived by his wife Diana of 58 years, daughters Shannon Martel, Kathy Oliver and grandchildren Sabrina Oliver and Ian Dunn. Bill was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone.

Bill loved sports, especially football, where his favorite team was the Carolina Panthers. He was always cracking a joke and loved Star Trek and Star Wars. Bill graduated from University of Bridgeport, being the first in his family to graduate college. He also served in the United States Navy and was plank owner on the USS Saratoga.
