On Friday April 26, 2024, Eleanor Greulich, woman of faith, mother, and grandmother, passed away at age 82. Eleanor was born on April 3, 1942, in Passaic, New Jersey to John Dys and Sophie Dys (nee Protasienia). She was a caring nurse for many years, devout Catholic, and proud of her Polish roots. In September 1962, she married Frank Greulich and had two children – Frank and Ellie. Her husband passed away in 1972 after complications from a motorcycle accident. Throughout her life, she remained a devoted mother to her children and her foster son of thirty years, Curtis McWilson. Besides her family, her passions in life were the Church, Elvis Presley, and of course, her Hallmark movies. Despite all the challenges in her life, she always found reason to smile.
Eleanor is survived by her two children – Frank Greulich and Ellie Griffin, four grandchildren – Ashley Lisea, Heather Poole (husband Curtis), Frankie Greulich (wife Andrea), and Tyler Griffin (wife Mia), great-granddaughter Allison Poole, sister, Linda Scalera, and nephews Benjamin and Daniel Scalera. In heaven, she joins her parents, husband, her infant siblings, and grandson, Stephen.
Arrangements are pending for a funeral mass at her church, Our Lady of Assumption in Charlotte, NC.
She will be remembered for her love and kindness
