Elizabeth “Jo”Howard, 91, formerly of the Bayboro community of Horry County, died peacefully September 24 surrounded by family.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her son Phillip, her father Walter Hobson Hamilton, her mother Danie Lenora Hamilton, sisters Eunice King and Eloise Byrd. She is survived by daughters Abigail (Abby) Freeman and Rebecca (Becky) Courtney and husband Ricky, grandchildren Brian Freeman, Nikki Freeman and Mitchell Courtney, a great granddaughter Katie Freeman, and great grandson Luke Kohl.
Ms. Howard attended Green Sea Schools, worked for many years with AVX Corporation along with helping on the farm. She always displayed a tremendous love for her family and friends along with kindness, caring and a strong work ethic.
Her love extended also to her church family at Bayboro Baptist Church where she was a lifelong member and will be her final resting place there on the grounds. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 3 to celebrate her life at the Bayboro Baptist Church cemetery officiated by Pastor Paul Alford at 2:00 PM. Family will receive friends immediately after the service In the fellowship hall.
