George Thomas Bergeron Jr.

George Thomas Bergeron Jr., 77 of Mint Hill, Charlotte NC passed away quietly in his home on November 24th 2024.   Born October 16, 1947 in Woonsocket RI, George was the son of the late George Thomas Bergeron Sr. & the late Beatrice Marie (Picard) Bergeron.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Heller Bergeron, his sisters Nancy Carolyn Dargis, Anita Louise Poirier, & brother James Joseph Bergeron, as well as many nieces and nephew, and great nieces and nephews.

George attended Charlotte Catholic High School, and went on to join the army, he served from 1970-1975.

George married Nancy Elaine Heller in 1980, and they had 44 years together. George was self employed, in 1985 he acquired Electro-Magnetic Painting Inc until his retirement. He also worked as event staff for many of the venues here in Charlotte, hockey, racing, panthers, golf, tennis, and musical events at the coliseum.  

He was a member at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church. All his life he loved automobiles and collected replicas of his favorites.  But he was always his happiest watching a game on TV with his cat on his lap. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Simmons YMCA of Charlotte, for the children’s summer program.

A Celebration of his life will be held at the family home on December 8, 2024 from 2 to 5pm.
