Georgia Christou Katsoudas, 77, of Charlotte, passed away on September 12, 2021 at home surrounded by family.  She was born in Asimochori, Greece on August 21, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Angelo and Eleni Giannouli Christou.  As a child, Georgia survived through the Greek Civil War and was taken to a Romanian concentration camp for 7 years. She moved to the United States in 1972 and settled in Charlotte.  Georgia was a homemaker, a loving wife, also worked at Skyland Family Restaurant, and mother who loved everyone. She loved to crochet throughout her life which she learned in the concentration camp. She also enjoyed Greek dancing, music such as Abba, Olivia Newton John, Donna Summer, Stelios Kazantzidis, Turkish TV shows as well as her true crime TV shows.

Her famous sayings were “ohhhhh yeahhhhh” “yummy yummy” “enjoy it” & “britcha bratcha”

Her biggest joy was spending time with her beloved children. She received great joy in sharing the love of her cooking, “Filotimo” with neighbors and loved ones. Her specialty was her spanakopita and homemade bread.

Mrs Katsoudas was preceded in death by her husband Konstatin Katsoudas who passed in May 2007.

Survivors include her three children Frances, Elaine, and John Katsoudas, one granddaughter Joya Katsoudas and her “adopted son” Bill, as well her beautiful cat Orea
