Gregory Gene Sidebottom

Gregory Gene Sidebottom, 60, passed away unexpectedly on May 25, 2020 at their river home in Ashe County, NC. He was the husband of Phyllis Pate Sidebottom. They shared 18 years of marriage.

Gregory was born in Washington, DC, he was the son of William and Henrietta Sidebottom. They moved to Charlotte in 1973, where they have resided since. He was a beloved supervisor at Steel Fab Inc where he spent 25 years.

His love for his family was first and foremost. He always brought joy and laughter to any gathering. He loved the outdoors and especially fishing. He will be remembered for his generosity, caring heart, and his loyal friendship.

He is survived by his spouse, Phyllis; his parents Bill and Henrietta; his children, Daniel Sidebottom and wife Erin as well as his beloved grandchildren Hannah, Lila, and Braeden who were his pride and joy, Matt Sidebottom and wife Katie ; step daughters, Amanda Wheeler and Kimberly Wheeler; his siblings, Steve Sidebottom, Sharon Carter and husband Bill; his niece, Ashley Satterwhite and husband Rob; his nephew, Ryan Sidebottom and wife Mason and great niece Isla. He was preceded by his brother, Mike Sidebottom.

The family will hold a celebration of life at the Sidebottom Residence on June 20th, 2020 from 12-5pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St Jude's Hospital or Second Harvest Food Bank.
