James Kluth Obituary

"Brother Jim" was born on Oct 5, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio. Jim passed away Jan. 7, 2025 with family members  by his side. Jim was a loving husband, father , grandfather, friend, and devoted member Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. He graduated from  South Mecklenburg High School in 1973. He attended THE Ohio State University, and was an enthusiastic fan of OSU football  Jim was a kind-hearted, loving man. He could talk to ANYONE(and did!).

Jim generously shared his skills and talents to help others. Jim was a Realtor/Broker, and he worked with his family-owned company, Countryside Properties, Inc. He enjoyed helping people to become first-time homeowners and in their subsequent  home purchases. He served on the Realtors Professional Standards Committee  for 20 years, and the Realtors Grievance Committee  for 3 years. Previous employment included working as a manager at McCrory's stores, Shoney's and Howard Johnsons restaurants.

He volunteered at the Independence Regional Library for over 20 years, teaching  basic computer skills and smart phone skills to seniors. Jim taught basic computer skills at Central Piedmont Community College. Jim also tutored individuals in computer skills.

Jim was very involved at his home church: he played guitar at several Masses, mentored young musicians, worked with the Youth Group and Parish Council, a Eucharistic Minister, and he enjoyed participating in Fish Group dinners.

Jim is survived by his wife of 36 years Kathy(aka Hunne Bunnee),brother David (Lori), sister Kathy Harlan (Doug), his  children, John Kluth (Beth),  Jennifer Hill (James). Jim absolutely loved his grandkids, Emma and Cameron Kluth, Anthony, Cayden and Devan Hill. There are many extended family relatives in Ohio and Virginia.
Jim  was funny, he brought laughter and smiles to many people. Jim was grateful for his many blessings, and grateful to all who helped him during his numerous medical battles.

The family extends special thanks to the staff at Atrium Main, Dickson Heart Unit,  Atrium Mercy Hospital, the kind firemen, medics , 911 staff and close neighbors.
Jim was loved by so many people, a fitting legacy for our "Brother Jim".
