Jason Crawford Obituary

Jason A Crawford, age 50, of Charlotte, NC passed away unexpectedly on January 13th 2024. He was born on June 24th 1973 at Tripler Army Medical Center located on base in Honolulu Hawaii.

Jason was a graduate of North Lenoir High School in LaGrange, NC. He lived off of Hwy 11 near Grifton, NC at the family home. After HS Jason attended the first BLET Training class at LCC and graduated. He wanted a career in law enforcement but went to work for Maury Correctional for some years before moving to Charlotte and changing his career path, by going to beauty school and graduating Valedictorian of his class. Never one to be too complacent Jason was always ready for a new challenge, once again Jason changed careers as his life changed directions when he became his own boss by Owning and Operating Heavenbound Transportation.  Jason ran this business for several years before deciding that not only did he want to run the transportation company he wanted to drive the big trucks himself.  He went back to school yet again, and to no one’s surprise, got his CDL and began his final career as an OTR truck driver, which he did for several years up till his passing.

He loved to travel anywhere, but especially the views across our great country. Jason always had a joke, an infectious smile & a boisterous laugh he inherited from our grandfather. He was friendly, and personable and had a kind spirit and heart.  He will be so greatly missed. We love you J.

He is survived by his boyfriend Paco currently living in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, His boxer “Ebony” of the home who was his ride or die companion over the road and he shared with friends. Also living is his identical twin Aaron (Dr. David Miller) Crawford, Aunt Wendy (William) Comerford, Uncle Eric (Amy) Dubert. Cousins Sarah (Ryan)Berger, son Griffin, and Brett (Audra) Comerford, son Noah Voss. Cousin Brandy Tate (Bob) and niece Victoria. There are too many people to mention, and he would want us to remind each other that FAMILY doesn’t always mean blood. That by connection, friendship, companionship, respect, and love for one another, we are all part of the same extended family.

Jason was predeceased by his mother Marcia (Dubert) Crawford who passed away in 2021. His father the year before. Also deceased Is Uncle Mark Dubert in 2012 & brother Thomas R. Crawford in 2001. Also departed are his beloved grandparents Earl (Hoop de doo) and Phyllis Dubert. Also departed were loved and known as Dr. John Capps of Gastonia, Ms. Dorothy (Dot) and last but least a couple of Boxer fur babies named Ginger & Penny.

In honor of his wishes, graveside interment will be on Sunday January the 21st,2023 at 1100 AM at Pinelawn Cemetery 4488 US Hwy 70W Kinston NC. All are welcome & he would want you dressed in comfortable clothing. After that please follow those present to the Nauti Dog Brewing Co at 210 Main St, Winterville NC 28590. Again, all are welcome and encouraged to join us as we celebrate Jason and share funny stories, fond memories, and memorable times of his life. Jason loved nothing more and was at his best when he got to be on the water at Lake Wylie with his fur baby Penny then Ebony & friends. At a later date an additional memorial service will be announced and held at The Woodshed 3935 Queen City Drive Charlotte NC.
