Karen Elizabeth (Voss) Mello

Karen Elizabeth Voss Mello was born on August 15, 1951 in Oakridge Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Frank S. Voss and Kathryn {Kay} Voss.   At age 2 1/2 the Voss family  moved to Waverly Ohio where Karen graduated from Waverly HS in 1969.   She attended Ohio State University 1969-1973 and graduated with a BS in Occupational Therapy.  She married Ralph R. Mello on November 10, 1973 and they had three children: Molly, Alise and Aaron and then 6 grandchildren: Julian, Stella, Briana, Eden, Davin and Scarlet.

Over the first 30 years of marriage she took into her home 15 different people in need for days, weeks, months or years as needed because she listened to God and was determined to help others. After a 19 year leave to raise her children, she became a school occupational therapist for CMS and made many friends in the profession and helped many families. Karen always had a heart for children, reading and education so she left her paid job at CMS to follow her passion to create a library for Brookstone School and grew the library and children's ability to read and learn for more than 20 years. Karen has always been an artist at heart and in the last 20 years has focused on pastel painting She is a member of the "Artners "a group of likeminded women artist who get together to encourage each other in their art and laugh. Karen has always been a person of faith, loved her family, enjoyed art in many forms, nature and was always fun to be around. A
