Luciana (Benetollo) Hare

Luciana Benetollo Hare passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023. A native of Verona, Italy, Luciana spent her life traveling the world with her husband Charles Robert Hare, a diplomat with the U.S. Foreign Service. During her lifetime, her passions included cooking, painting, and her family.

Luciana was a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina since 2020. Previously, she resided in Wilmington, North Carolina; Richmond, Virginia; and Seminole, Florida.

She is survived by her three children, Roberta Nicoletta Petrin (Noel), Michael Laurence Hare, and Christopher Renato Hare (Rebecca), and three grandchildren, Noel “Ty” Petrin, Alexander Hare, and Christian Hare. She also leaves behind her siblings in Verona, Italy: identical twin sister Renata Bizzotto, and brothers Adriano Benetollo (Rosanna) and Sergio Benetollo (Loredana), along with many nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held in Florida in April, where she will be laid to to rest next to her husband, per her wishes.
