Mae U (Yi) Anneheim

Devoted mother and grandmother Mae U Anneheim joined Our Heavenly Father on September 16, 2021 in Charlotte, NC in the presence of her loving children and grandchildren.  

She was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1938 of Korean and Japanese ancestry and met her future husband, the late Robert E. Anneheim, in 1967.  Together they welcomed six children into this world including Susan (Eric) Stein of Wade, NC, Robert F. Anneheim of Charlotte, John (Tasha) Anneheim of Asheville, Stephen Anneheim of Charlotte, William Anneheim of Charlotte and Sarah Jackson of Cherokee, NC.  She was also fortunate to have included, as son and daughter, Jae Ree of Wilmington and Jenny (Roderick) Ree of Fayetteville.  She had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren for whom she found great joy in welcoming into her home.

Mrs. Anneheim had a lifelong commitment to providing for her large family.  She had a passion for gardening which provided the many vegetables that helped nurture her family members from childhood through adulthood and she took great satisfaction in sharing her unique culture mostly through Korean cuisine.  She always welcomed guests into her home with open arms, ingratiating them with her hearty food.  She was truly the glue that held her extended family together.

A private viewing for family members was held at Carolina Funeral Service and Cremation Center in Charlotte on September 20th.  May she rest in peace.
