Mary Ann “Fairley” Cyr, 90, was born in the Country of “Scotland”, city of Airdrie, February 9, 1934. She was a resident of Indian Trail. NC, formerly of Danbury, Ct. She passed away peacefully after a brief stay at Levine Dickson Hospice House October 16, 2024, surrounded by her loving son Nicholas G. Cyr and her loving daughter in law Tracy Jackson Cyr.
While living in Scotland, Mary was a clippie, otherwise known as a “Conductor” for the Scottish bus system X. After moving to Danbury, she met the love of her of her life, Dana O. Cyr while both working at Kimberly-Clark, New Milford, CT. They were married on June 11,1960.
She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, and friend always sacrificing for others. She was kind, generous, making friends wherever she went. Her famous Scottish laugh was incredibly infectious.
She is also survived by her sister Catherine Gardner of Canada and brother Peter Fairley of London England. Mary is proceeded in death by her husband Dana O. Cyr, her son Steven D Cyr, her mother, Catherine, her father Nicholas, her sister, Margaret and brothers Nick, and John.
Mary or “Nanna to her precious grandchildren, Tim (Sonia), Christopher (Caroline), of San Antonio, TX and Marybeth (Justin), of Ocala, FL. Nicole & Alexander of Monroe, NC as well as greatgrandchildren, Adrianna, Mallory, Ryan, Aubrey, Jase and baby Ridley. She is also survived by her beloved nieces, Dawn Muir, Canada & Catherine Muir of Canada and Donna Cyr Ferrone (Jerry) of Vero Beach, FL.
The Cyr Family would like to say a special Thank You to Via Healthcare, Visiting Angels and nurses Jen, Kassidy and Brenda for the extraordinary care given to Mary.
Graveside Services will be held by Father John of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 10-25-2024 at 10:30 a.m. Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill NC 28227.
