Mary Jane (Gibson) Reed

Mary Jane Gibson Reed 94, of Charlotte, passed away August 22, 2018. She was born in Cairo, Illinois on May 30, 1924 to the late Cecil and Bessie Gibson.

Mary Jane was a registered nurse who dedicated her life to raising her family, caring for others and volunteering at church.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Lloyd R. Reed, children L. Robert Reed, Jr. (Judy), Beth R. Little (James), Terry A. Reed (Jo Ann), 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St.Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Charlotte, NC on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 1:00 PM.

The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes prior to the Mass. Inurnment will immediately follow the Mass at the church columbarium. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
