Mary Jacqueline (Moody) McCrary

Mary Jacqueline Moody McCrary, 86, native of Charlotte, NC, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 at her current residence in Calabash, NC.

Mary was born on November 18, 1936 to the late Jack Parks Moody and Geneva Lee Evans Moody in Maggie Valley, NC. After Mary graduated from Waynesville High School in 1955, she went on to work as an Administrative Assistant in the manufacturing industry.

Besides spending time with her family and friends, she had a passion for cooking, traveling and solving puzzles.  Mary had a bright and energetic personality and touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.

In addition to her parents, Mary was proceeded in death by her brothers, Joseph Samuel Moody and Samuel Austin Hall. She is survived by her three daughters, Lisa McCrary Davis (Mark) of Cornelius, NC; Tina McCrary Worsley of Charlotte, NC; and Camila McCrary Hopkins of Calabash, NC; grandchildren, Kelli Anne Davis of Nashville, TN; Kari Davis Dalton (Michael) of Charlotte, NC; Justin David Jacob (Cabre) of Catawba, SC; Jessica Worsley West (Brandon) of Wildomar, CA; great grand-children Kailyn Suzanne Jacob, Thomas Michael Dalton, Hazel Ahyoka West.

A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held at Memorial United Methodist Church, Charlotte, NC at 12pm on Thursday, December the 29th; the family will receive friends at 1100am.  Ministers Eric Lanier and Ned Owens will officiate.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church, 4012 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205.
