Lula King Barrs, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 22, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Robert Floyd and Lera Ballard King. Lula was a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School. Lula was a loving mother who was always there for her daughters. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved being outdoors; walking through the neighborhood, laying in the sun, and trips to the beach. She also loved country music and enjoyed dancing. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Jenny Russell, and nephew, Rodney Russell.
She is survived by her children, Angie Burch (Tim) of Indian Trail, NC and Teresa Blanton (Chris) of Clover, SC; grandchildren Corey Burch (Ally), Haley Brown (Kyle), Dylan Blanton (Laura), and Dakota Blanton (Alexis); great-grandchildren River Burch, Jackson Burch, Braden Blanton, Ryleigh Blanton, and Noah Blanton; brothers, Terry King (Karen) of Indian Trail, NC, Jerry King (Jeannie) of Chesterfield, SC, sister, Donna Gooden (Lynn) of Patrick, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the staff at Lake Wylie Assisted Living and Providence Care Hospice for taking such great care of our mother.
Visitation and memorial service will be Friday, March 26, 2021, from 1:00pm – 3:00pm, at Carolina Funeral Service and Cremation Center, 5505 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC.
