Nancy Howell departed this earthly plane on Wednesday, October 4th at home surrounded by family after a long battle with a myriad of significant health issues.
Born October 23, 1933 to Jenny Marie Carter Cheshire and Guy Cheshire, Nancy was raised in Cotton Plant, Arkansas. After receiving her teaching certificate, Nancy took a position as an elementary school teacher in Orlando, Florida. The school secretary, Maryhelen Howell, introduced Nancy to her son, George Markham Howell Jr. They were married three months later in Nancy's childhood home.
During their 52 years of marriage, they bought 4 homes & 2 vacation homes which provided for wonderful family experiences. In 1972, they built their final home in Sharon Woods of Charlotte, NC. Nancy loved her home and neighbors and they helped look after her in her later years with love and patience.
Nancy is survived by three children and their spouses; Cindy (Mike), Lee, Trey (Mary) four grandchildren; Mark, Michael, Caity, and Sara; as well as her great granddaughter, Hayden. She also leaves behind many beloved friends.
A memorial service will be held 11 AM at Carolina Funeral Services & Cremation Center; 5505 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212 on Saturday, October 28th.
