Pamela Barnes Obituary

Pamela House Barnes
Mrs. Pamela “Pam” Gene House Barnes, 81, of Lincolnton, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 24, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 2, 1944, the oldest daughter of the late John Ambrose House Jr. and the late Willie Albert “Bill” Suddreth House. She spent much of her life in Charlotte, until moving to Monroe, North Carolina in 1995, then to Lincolnton in 2016.
Pam graduated from Garinger High School in 1962. A cornerstone of her professional life was her over 30-year tenure with the firm now known as Accenture. Starting in the early days of Arthur Anderson and Andersen Consulting, she remained a loyal and valued member of the team through every era of the company’s history.

Above all else, Pam was the true heart of her family. Her greatest passion was simply being together whether she was hosting a holiday dinner or attending a milestone event, she was the steady, loving presence in the lives of her children, many grandchildren, and her dear sister. Her home was a revolving door for cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom knew that her door was always open and her table always had a place for them. To Pam, family wasn’t just a priority; it was her entire world. She was the first person to call in times of need, the first to arrive whenever help was required, and was at her happiest when her house was full of laughter and loved ones.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, James Beecham Clayton “Jimmy” Barnes, in 2010, to whom she was a faithful and devoted wife. She was also preceded in death by a loving grandson, James Maxwell “Max” Laytham and special brother-in-law, Jack Wayne Winchester.

Those left to cherish Pam’s memory are her loving children, James “Jimbo” Barnes and wife Rayvette and Tammy Haver; five grandchildren, Alex Laytham and wife Tori, Clayton Haver and wife Anna, Chloe McAbee and husband Austin, Matthew Pitts and wife Sonya, and Bethany Pitts; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Austin Laytham; her sister Penny Winchester and by numerous nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.
