Patricia Ann (Patti) (Isenburg) Matys

Patricia Ann “Patti” Matys (nee) Isenburg of Matthews, NC, formerly of Endicott, NY, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, February 21^st, 2020.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 29^th, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 8451 Idlewild Rd., Charlotte, NC 28227.  Mass will immediately follow and   Interment will be at Sharon Memorial Gardens, 5716 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by Carolina Funeral and Cremation Center.

Patti was born in Endicott, NY, graduated from Union-Endicott High School, and worked for a number of years as a paralegal and office manager for Frito Lay before joining IBM Corporation. 

In 1979, Patti and her immediate family relocated to Charlotte where she helped IBM establish a new area headquarters.  After retirement, Patti focused on her religion.  She was an active member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and served the Lord in various capacities.  Patti held positions including:  Son Fest Co-Chair; RCIA Team Member; Parish Pastoral Council; Adoration Committee; and Eucharistic Minister.

Patti forged many strong friendships throughout the years.  This was due to her kind and giving nature.  She was a wonderful Mother who always put her children and family first. 

Patti is survived by sons Michael (Sue), James D. (Susan), grandson James A., two step grandsons Daniel and Dalton, brother K.C. “Mike” Isenburg, nephew Patrick Isenburg, Sister-in-Law Lynda Matys, two nieces Alison Matys, Sara Handel, and great nephew Adam Fisher. 

She was predeceased by her parents Kyrle and Ann Isenburg and husband, James M. Matys

In lieu of flowers, an offering of Mass cards and/or memorial donations may be given to Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region and the American Cancer Society.
